Meet your chiropractor

It started with my father

Wrestling is why I am here today. One had throw, and I was a wreck. I saw my dad’s chiropractor, and over the course of a few weeks was back to the mat.

Unfortunately, other health professionals didn’t look at the mechanical problems I was facing, just symptoms, and because of that I never improved. Yet, a few visits from the chiropractor and we were able to resolve my symptoms, and most importantly the root cause. That mindset, of finding the cause to the symptoms is exactly why I gravitated towards chiropractic over traditional medicine. I wanted to deliver care that could truly improve someone’s life and make lifestyle changes.

What makes me different

You will be hard pressed to find a doctor with as much enthusiasm over working with you and getting you to reach your goals. The positivity and energy I bring is unmatched, and becomes infectious. I am not just here for you, but with you as your life improves.

Outside the office

I grew up here in Waukesha and am a proud Wolverine. My wife and I spend a lot of time trying new restaurants and traveling. I am an avid outdoorsman. Seeking adventure as often as I can. Whether that’s scaling mountains in pursuit of elk, hiking the local trails, or kayaking lakes and streams. On my lunch breaks you will finding me improving my health at Crunch, leading by example.

Focus areas

Where I focus

Every doctor at Chiropractic Company is trained to care for the full range of spinal and musculoskeletal conditions. What differs between us is the additional training we’ve done and the patients we’ve spent the most time with.

Recreational athletes

I see a variety of athletes, from track, to football, baseball, cycling and everything in between. Common areas of pain include neck, shoulders, and back.

Desk & office workers

Desk workers commonly experience neck and upper back pain, headaches, and sciatic pain in the lower back and legs.

Seniors (65+)

Seniors who strive to stay active often experience low back, hip, and sciatic pain that can affect their ability to move safely and with confidence

Technique

How I work

Here is what I use and when.

Usually first

Gonstead

I utilize the specific nature of this technique to target the root problem, and expand from that point.

Then

Thompson drop-table

low force adjustments work great early in treatment when areas are already sore and inflamed, minimizing further soreness after treatment

Also

Diversified

as patients become more comfortable with adjusting this broader technique tends to work well with a majority of patients, making it a great all around tool

Low force

Activator / instrument

A small handheld instrument delivers a controlled, low-force impulse to a specific spot. No twisting, no popping sound.

Upper cervical

Upper cervical

Precise work on the top two vertebrae, where the head meets the neck. Small corrections here affect posture further down.

Beyond the spine

Extremity adjusting

Adjusting joints outside the spine — shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles and feet. Often what a spine-only approach misses.

Children

Pediatric / low-force

Adjusting scaled to a child, using roughly the pressure you would use to check a ripe tomato. Nothing like an adult adjustment in force or technique.

Assessment

Motion palpation

Feeling how each joint moves through its range rather than assessing it at rest. This is how a restricted segment gets found — often not where the pain is.

Assessment

X-ray analysis

On-site imaging when it will change the plan. Used to rule things out as much as to confirm them.

Assessment

Gait analysis

Watching how you walk. Foot, knee, hip and back complaints frequently trace back to something happening at heel strike.

Also uses Digital foot scan, Active Release Technique, Spinal decompression, Electrical stimulation and Corrective exercise.

Two things worth knowing

You decide what I do

I will gladly go over any concerns over neck adjustments with the patient. From there we will determine whether or not it is something we can or should try, or if the patient is still concerned, I will gladly do my best and avoid it.

When I’ll send you somewhere else

Generally speaking, Chiropractic care is conservative care. During the exam if I find that anything is beyond my scope or I feel needs further examination and assessment from a neurologist, orthopedist, or MD, I do not hesitate to refer the patient out.

For most people, no. You may hear or feel a pop, which is gas releasing from the joint rather than bones cracking. Some people feel mild soreness afterward, similar to after a workout, usually for a day or less.

Plan for about an hour. That covers the consultation, the exam, and X-rays if they’re needed. At your second visit, Dr. Kujawa goes over the results and your care plan. Follow-up visits are shorter.
