Plain words

How chiropractic coverage works

Insurance words can be confusing. Here’s what they mean for your chiropractic visits.

Network

In-network

Your plan has a contract with us. A network is the providers your plan has contracted with.4

Before your plan pays

Deductible

The amount you pay for covered care before your plan starts to pay.1

Per visit

Copay

A fixed amount you pay for a covered visit, usually after your deductible.2

Your share

Coinsurance

A percentage of the cost you pay after your deductible, such as 20%.3

Your plan sets your costs

Your benefits, visit limits, and costs depend on your plan. That’s why we check before your first visit.

Medicare and Medicaid

Medicare and Medicaid

Both are welcome at our clinics. The $29 offer doesn’t apply to them.

Medicare

In-network with Medicare

We accept Medicare’s approved amount as full payment, and we take all Medicare Advantage and Medicare supplement plans. Medicare Part B covers spinal adjustments by a chiropractor to correct a subluxation.5 Other services a chiropractor orders, such as X-rays, aren’t covered.5 How Medicare billing works.

Medicaid

ForwardHealth (Wisconsin Medicaid)

ForwardHealth is on our list of in-network plans. Coverage varies by plan. Verify your insurance, and our team checks your benefits before your visit.

Medicare and Medicaid patients aren’t eligible for the $29 New Patient Special. It’s also not available when your visit is billed to auto insurance.
