Why I became a chiropractor
I chose chiropractic because I’ve always enjoyed helping people, communicating with them, and learning about health. I like being able to work directly with patients, understand what they’re dealing with, and help them feel and function better.
I enjoy being able to explain things in a way patients understand and help them take an active role in their own health. For me, it combines a lot of the things I naturally enjoy—working with people, problem-solving, communication, and helping others improve their quality of life.
What makes me different
I think what makes me different is how much I focus on communication and individualized care. I take time to listen, explain what I’m finding, and adjust my approach based on the patient. I also like combining adjustments with mobility, stability, and soft tissue work to help people move and feel better.
What an adjustment feels like
An adjustment is a quick, controlled movement to help improve motion in a restricted joint. You may hear a pop, but that isn’t necessarily the goal. I’ll explain what I’m doing beforehand and make sure you’re comfortable throughout the process.
Outside the office
Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, staying active, reading books, and playing the drums. I grew up in Wisconsin and enjoy traveling and finding new things to do with my wife, Nicole.
Where I focus
Every doctor at Chiropractic Company is trained to care for the full range of spinal and musculoskeletal conditions. What differs between us is the additional training we’ve done and the patients we’ve spent the most time with.
I commonly care for desk and office workers with neck stiffness, upper-back tension, and low back pain from prolonged sitting and computer work.
I frequently work with trades and manual labor workers dealing with low-back, neck, and shoulder pain from lifting, repetitive movement, and physical work.
I care for busy parents and families dealing with back pain, neck tension, and headaches that can make every day work and family life harder.
Conditions I treat
Like every doctor at our Mequon office, I care for the full range of conditions below.
How I work
I most often see working adults and parents with low-back pain, neck and upper-back tension, and mobility issues related to desk work and physically demanding jobs.
Motion palpation
I use it to identify restricted or dysfunctional area and guide where and how I adjust.
Mobility and stability work
I use movement to address the underlying mobility or control issues contributing to the patient’s complaint.
Soft tissue mobilization
I use it to reduce muscular tension and improve movement before or alongside adjusting.
Diversified
The most widely used chiropractic technique — a specific, hands-on thrust to restore motion in a restricted joint. This is what most people picture when they think of getting adjusted.
Gonstead
A detailed analytical approach that identifies one specific segment rather than adjusting a region. Usually paired with x-ray and palpation findings.
Thompson drop-table
A section of the table drops a short distance as the adjustment is delivered, so less manual force is needed to move the joint.
Activator / instrument
A small handheld instrument delivers a controlled, low-force impulse to a specific spot. No twisting, no popping sound.
Extremity adjusting
Adjusting joints outside the spine — shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles and feet. Often what a spine-only approach misses.
Pediatric / low-force
Adjusting scaled to a child, using roughly the pressure you would use to check a ripe tomato. Nothing like an adult adjustment in force or technique.
Geriatric / modified
Adjustments adapted for reduced bone density, arthritis and limited range of motion. Lower force, different positioning.
Also uses X-ray analysis, Digital foot scan, Active Release Technique, Instrument-assisted (Graston/IASTM) and Myofascial release.
You decide what I do
I respect that and don’t adjust their neck. We can use other comfortable, low-force approaches instead.
When I’ll send you somewhere else
If I find red flags or something outside a msk issue, I refer to the appropriate provider or for further imaging.
