Meet your chiropractor

It started with my mother

I had a bad car accident at 16, and my mom took me to a chiropractor. He inspired me to become a chiropractor.

My mother has chronic low back pain and going to the chiropractor was the only thing that gave her relief.

My grandmother had many spine surgeries, I knew that I wanted to prevent that for myself as much as possible and help others do the same.

What makes me different

I’m the one who gets joints moving. I also explain why I do extremities, how it relates to your condition or how it can help.

What an adjustment feels like

You’re going to take a breath in and let it all out and at the end there will be a push. We may or may not hear it move. If we do it may be like a pop sounding.

Outside the office

I grew up in Plymouth and moved to Grafton after Chiropractic school. I wanted to be closer to family to be able to help them and spend time with them. I am very involved in my niece and nephew’s lives and you will find me at Soccer on Saturday’s supporting them. I enjoy doing crafts and playing sports with my niece and nephew as well.

Focus areas

Where I focus

Every doctor at Chiropractic Company is trained to care for the full range of spinal and musculoskeletal conditions. What differs between us is the additional training we’ve done and the patients we’ve spent the most time with.

Pregnancy & postpartum

Pregnancy low back pain, round ligament pain, and mom posture of carrying little ones and feeding.

Trades & manual labor

Trades & Manual Labor, often having to hold the same position for longer periods of time, repetitively.

Chronic pain

Chronic pain that has been going on for a long time, old sports injuries.

Technique

How I work

Shorewood is a lot of trades & manual labor with low back pain or sciatica. Retirees with chronic pain who want to stay active. Adults who are active and want to keep up with kids and grandkids.

Usually first

Soft Tissue

I want to relax the muscles that are spasming first.

Then

Thompson drop-table

I like to ease elderly individuals or nervous patients into adjusting and start with low force.

Also

Activator / instrument

Gentle and specific adjustment for babies and children.

Adjusting

Diversified

The most widely used chiropractic technique — a specific, hands-on thrust to restore motion in a restricted joint. This is what most people picture when they think of getting adjusted.

Beyond the spine

Extremity adjusting

Adjusting joints outside the spine — shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles and feet. Often what a spine-only approach misses.

Children

Pediatric / low-force

Adjusting scaled to a child, using roughly the pressure you would use to check a ripe tomato. Nothing like an adult adjustment in force or technique.

Assessment

Motion palpation

Feeling how each joint moves through its range rather than assessing it at rest. This is how a restricted segment gets found — often not where the pain is.

Assessment

X-ray analysis

On-site imaging when it will change the plan. Used to rule things out as much as to confirm them.

Assessment

Movement screening

Watching how you move through a set of positions to find the limitation driving the complaint.

Assessment

Gait analysis

Watching how you walk. Foot, knee, hip and back complaints frequently trace back to something happening at heel strike.

Also uses Digital foot scan, Active Release Technique, Instrument-assisted (Graston/IASTM), Trigger point therapy and Kinesiology taping.

Two things worth knowing

You decide what I do

No problem. I don’t have to do your neck.

When I’ll send you somewhere else

Any red flags during exam or patient is too acute to touch then I will send to Emergency Room. If patient isn’t responding like expected to treatment, I will send to orthopedic for further evaluation. Headaches that don’t improve in frequency, I will send to primary to get a referral to Neurology.

For most people, no. You may hear or feel a pop, which is gas releasing from the joint rather than bones cracking. Some people feel mild soreness afterward, similar to after a workout, usually for a day or less.

Plan for about an hour. That covers the consultation, the exam, and X-rays if they’re needed. At your second visit, Dr. Doebert goes over the results and your care plan. Follow-up visits are shorter.

No referral is needed. Some insurance plans may require one for full benefits. Our team can check when you verify your insurance.
