Pregnancy, birth, and what comes after

I have always been fascinated by pregnancy and babies and the ability our bodies have to grow, birth, and develop new life. During these rapidly changing and sensitive milestones, there are limited options for delivering comfort care in a safe, and effective way.

Chiropractic is one of these methods for helping women, babies, and children reach their maximum potential without having to dive into more aggressive treatment. I have seen women have more comfortable pregnancies, faster recoveries from birth, and babies clear the tension their bodies can carry in utero and during birth with chiropractic care. Time and time again I hear from moms "I wish I had known about this sooner."

What makes me different

My comfort level is in the chaos of motherhood because I’m still living it. I know what it’s like to need to be seen. To show up and have someone anticipate what you need and what you’re going through without having to ask or explain. My office is catered to children and families to feel comfortable and respected. Crying kids welcome.

What an adjustment feels like

I use a variety of techniques so no one’s adjustment looks exactly the same- it’s tailored to their body and their needs; but for your first adjustment I’ll talk you through what I’m seeing in your body (your posture, how it’s moving and where you have tension) and then the adjustment I’ll use to correct that so you know what to anticipate at every step.

Outside the office

I’m deeply ingrained in this community because it’s where I grew up, and my husband has come right into the fold while we work alongside each other. We’re members of Crosspoint Community church and our two daughters attend school in Oconomowoc. We love being outside and exploring new businesses (and frequenting our favorites). I love reading books and spending time with friends and family outside of work.

Focus areas

Where I focus

Every doctor at Chiropractic Company is trained to care for the full range of spinal and musculoskeletal conditions. What differs between us is the additional training we’ve done and the patients we’ve spent the most time with.

Infants

I frequently see infants with issues related to oral ties/feeding issues, plagiocephaly (flat head), torticollis, and constipation.

Pregnancy

Working with pregnant patients I utilize the Webster Technique to create balance in the pelvis, and mitigate pregnancy related discomfort without medication.

Children

I often see young children for growing pains, constipation, difficulty meeting milestones, chronic ear infections and trouble sleeping.

Technique

How I work

Half of my patient base is pediatric (mostly infants) and the rest of my patients are families or those starting their family!

Usually first

Pediatric / low-force

it’s a safe, gentle, and effective technique for babies

Then

Craniosacral technique

gives me a soft tissue approach to work through the fascia and help babies coordinate movements they have not mastered yet

Also

Webster Technique

a technique developed specifically for pregnancy to be safe and provide balance to the pelvis regardless of symptoms

Adjusting

Diversified

The most widely used chiropractic technique — a specific, hands-on thrust to restore motion in a restricted joint. This is what most people picture when they think of getting adjusted.

Low force

Thompson drop-table

A section of the table drops a short distance as the adjustment is delivered, so less manual force is needed to move the joint.

Low force

Activator / instrument

A small handheld instrument delivers a controlled, low-force impulse to a specific spot. No twisting, no popping sound.

Beyond the spine

Extremity adjusting

Adjusting joints outside the spine — shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles and feet. Often what a spine-only approach misses.

Assessment

Motion palpation

Feeling how each joint moves through its range rather than assessing it at rest. This is how a restricted segment gets found — often not where the pain is.

Assessment

X-ray analysis

On-site imaging when it will change the plan. Used to rule things out as much as to confirm them.

Assessment

Digital foot scan

A pressure scan of both feet, showing how weight distributes and where the arch is collapsing.

Also uses Instrument-assisted (Graston/IASTM), Electrical stimulation, Corrective exercise, PNF stretching and Ergonomic assessment.

Two things worth knowing

You decide what I do

Ask the patient why? Then discuss what makes them feel most comfortable. Do they just want a low force technique or stretches or do they have an anomaly that wouldn’t allow for any cervical adjustment? I would never force a patient to utilize a technique they’re not ok with.

When I’ll send you somewhere else

If their care is out of my scope of practice or expertise, then I will refer them to the provider I feel is the best fit or can provide the appropriate services to get them the care they need. I refer/ co-manage with physical therapists, ortho and neuro, lactation consultants, dentists, massage therapists, occupational therapists and nutritionists.

For most people, no. You may hear or feel a pop, which is gas releasing from the joint rather than bones cracking. Some people feel mild soreness afterward, similar to after a workout, usually for a day or less.

Plan for about an hour. That covers the consultation, the exam, and X-rays if they’re needed. At your second visit, Dr. Fritz goes over the results and your care plan. Follow-up visits are shorter.

Yes. We’re in-network with most insurance companies, including Medicare, and we bill your plan for you. What you pay depends on your plan’s copay, deductible, and coinsurance. Verify your insurance before your visit, or call (262) 244-5004.

No referral is needed. Some insurance plans may require one for full benefits. Our team can check when you verify your insurance.
