It started with my mother
When I was in High School I was playing a lot of basketball and soccer. I was dealing with hip pain and low back pain.
My mom took me to see a Chiropractor and after a few visits and custom orthotics I was pain free on the court and field. I distinctly remember that it was more than just pain relief, when I got adjusted it felt like a light went on and I woke up. Difficult to describe but I distinctly remember my first chiropractic adjustment and how much it changed my life.
What makes me different
I am very detailed in my assessment and report of findings. I want the patient to have all the information laid out clearly in front of them so they can make an informed decision. I like to be transparent and real. I like to give at home exercises and have my patients do as much as they can themselves. Patient education is my strong suit.
What an adjustment feels like
I am going to use my hands or some tools to move your spinal joints so that the spinal nerves can communicate better. You may feel or hear a "pop" similar to a knuckle popping; this is totally normal. The adjustment will be very quick, very gentle, and very specific.
Outside the office
My family and I live in Waukesha, not far from the clinic. My wife is a finance manager for Saputo Cheese in Wauwatosa, which is a lot of fun that she ended up working for a cheese company bacuese we are both born and raised in Wisconsin. We have two little girls: Bernadette and Lucille. I love to spend time with my family, reading books, singing songs, playing games Etc. I love to play sports when I get the chance!
Where I focus
Every doctor at Chiropractic Company is trained to care for the full range of spinal and musculoskeletal conditions. What differs between us is the additional training we’ve done and the patients we’ve spent the most time with.
Shoulder pain and upper back pain from sitting at a desk and using a mouse and keyboard too much. Headaches and migraines from stress and staring at a screen all day.
Elderly patients need help maintaining their independence
Elderly patients need help maintaining their independence. Mobility issues due to too much pain tend to get in the way. Sciatica and knee pain I treat every day in this office.
Competitive athletes are always dealing with injuries and range of motion issues that slow them down. These patients always want to get back to activity.
Conditions I treat
Like every doctor at our New Berlin office, I care for the full range of conditions below.
How I work
New Berlin gets a lot of elderly patients dealing with sciatica and lower extremity complaints. Mixed in with that is desk workers and high schoolers involved in sports.
Diversified
I usually start with this technique because it yields the best results.
Thopson Drop
Best low force technique for low back and pelvis complaints in my elderly population
Gonstead
Very specific adjustments to target very specific complaints.
Thompson drop-table
A section of the table drops a short distance as the adjustment is delivered, so less manual force is needed to move the joint.
Activator / instrument
A small handheld instrument delivers a controlled, low-force impulse to a specific spot. No twisting, no popping sound.
Cox flexion-distraction
A segmented table gently stretches the spine to open the space around a compressed disc or nerve root. Often used for sciatica and disc complaints.
Upper cervical
Precise work on the top two vertebrae, where the head meets the neck. Small corrections here affect posture further down.
Extremity adjusting
Adjusting joints outside the spine — shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles and feet. Often what a spine-only approach misses.
Pediatric / low-force
Adjusting scaled to a child, using roughly the pressure you would use to check a ripe tomato. Nothing like an adult adjustment in force or technique.
Motion palpation
Feeling how each joint moves through its range rather than assessing it at rest. This is how a restricted segment gets found — often not where the pain is.
Also uses X-ray analysis, Movement screening, Gait analysis, Digital foot scan and Active Release Technique.
You decide what I do
I don’t need to work on your neck if you don’t want me to. That being said, I am trained in many different techniques, after we have done a thorough exam, we can discuss if there is a technique that would work for you.
When I’ll send you somewhere else
Many times, in my office I catch things during the initial consult/physical exam or on the X-ray images that requires referral to a different medical professional. I work regularly with Orthopedic doctors and Neurologists on the more complex cases that require more collaboration. I will be real with you when I have reached my limits, and you need to see another provider.
